OUR STORY

We have always loved France, and started visiting the Languedoc in 2010. We discovered Laroque des Alberes a few years later and decided to buy somewhere in 2017. After looking at several houses, we ended up buying a plot and building the villa you see today over the next 3 years. We are very happy with the result, we really enjoy the lifestyle in Laroque, the villa being in a quiet edge of village location but with easy access to local restaurants and bars and about a 15 minute drive to the coast. We like relaxing by the pool and enjoying the fabulous views of the Alberes mountains.

This is our home from home in the South of France. Completed in 2021, the detached villa was built and furnished to our own design. A calm and relaxing place to be with covered terrace, master bedroom suite, lounge and kitchen all overlooking the swimming pool and the fabulous views. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!​​

Laroque has a great selection of restaurants and small bars, and in the summer months you will often find live music in the centre. The centre is a 10 minute stroll away. There is a tennis club and fitness classes, and for those interested in wine, several local caves are a short drive away where you can taste the local produce.

We love to walk into the countryside or up into the mountains surrounding the village. The coast is a 15 minute drive away, either at Argeles or St Cyprien. Collioure, considered the jewel in the crown of the Cote Vermeille is less than 20 minutes. For the youngsters, there is the vallée des tortues (turtles) which has a fascinating collection of tortoises of all sizes and other exotic animals, and of course the beach!​
